Today, as student, we must prepared everything to make our dream come true. One of them with practice English very well. English is very important to learn as disclosed in the beginning. For me, with speak English very well, we will get added value. Different with people who can not speak English.
For example, in the model competition or election event of national or international contest. There are question and answer session with the judge. If we can answer very well, of course we will get a good marks. Then, if we can answer with English, it makes we will get added value compared with the other participants. That experience I get when I follow the model competition and I took from the election event of Mister International. At that time, the participant from Greece could not answer the question in English, so that he got only fifth rank. Whereas he was struggled and successful entry in big five. Just because he could not answer the question using good English, he was unable to maximize his struggle. As MC or presenter I have ever been presents the event where there are judge from foreign country (i am forget from which country). At that time I demanded to communicate with the jury who come from abroad, because my partner could not speak English well. One time my partner greeting one women jury who come from abroad. My partner greet her with calls “Missis” (Ms.). Suddenly the judge clarified that she was single. Yaa, I know that Ms. used for women who was married, whereas called for an unmarried is Miss. I also gained warning to my partner. Because I also do not yet speak English well, from that I be careful in English. That is some of my experience with English.
English required to of profession and employment in global era. For careers in the future, English is important and the main requirement in competition in global era. For example, to presenting the result of work in front of the boss, to face the problems in the office, to winning project that will be done and to be able to communicate with clients. We are required to present in English. It makes us become reliable and appreciated by other people. And we can get promoted to rise position. This experience I take from the experience of my father and my brother. He always used as reliable for people in the office in terms of communicating with the boss, especially in English. Yaa, I confess my brother is good in English. From child he liked to learn English and he was lecture in Australia and continue his lecture in IP FE UII.
